Hi,

I have already sent my passport and expecting to get my passport back with the PR visa within the next 2 weeks or so.

My question is can I still apply for a work visa. It's just part of my company's yearly renewal of contract. And since my company is arranging and paying for it, I thought I might as well go through with it.

Basically I will apply for TRV Work visa while my passport is being stamped for PR and when I get my passport back with the PR stamp I will be sending it again for TRV work visa stamp.

Can anyone confirm if this is allowed or is there harm in doing this?

Thanks!

It's not useless right?

If for some reason POE rejects me as a PR I can still enter using my work visa; otherwise I'm forced to return to the US

I'm asking because my colleague has this same set-up. Fortunately for her, the timing was perfect. She had her work visa already and then her PR came out.

For me it was the other way around.

Am I making sense? or what am I missing here?

Your colleague's situation makes perfect sense. If you truly want to take this approach go for it but I won't help knowing what has already been stated above.
