My Passport got to the NYC VAC mailroom on 22nd November. Based on my timeline, I doubt you will get it by December 21st. I had to cancel my ticket to Canada for the 17th of December.

Sorry for disrupting the thread here, but you guys are all done with the visitor application and everything so I thought you would know the answer to my question.
So, i'm doing a visitor online application for myself. Do I have to print all the forms, sign them, and date them before I upload it? Or do I just upload them?
One of my friends told me I don't have to sign any of the forms because it is an online application.
Please please.. let me know.

HI guys, required small clarification on visitor visa application. I am a PR in Canada and need to apply for visitor visa for my father in India.
1. What is your suggestion, online app or paper based?
2. Invitation letter should be the original or xerox is acceptable (in case of paper based app).
3. If I go by online app, will I be able to apply through MY cic application or I need to create a new account for my father.
Please do share if there is any other important thing to keep in mind.., thanks in advance.

Online application makes more sense as it is easy to manage.
Invitation scan copy can work as well.
You need to create separate account for your father.

I feel truly sorry for you. After reading some old threads, it seems that the application should be complete after a counterfoil is updated. Having to go through all the random changes and finally canceling your flight is horrible!
I did get a counterfoil update today. Am I to cautiously expect it to be complete soon afterwards? At least that is what I see from older threads, except for jatinst's experience.

Sent Passport: Nov 28. Based on Canada Post track info, it arrived at Nov 29th, 10 AM
Status change to Approved: Dec 13, however, I got the notification email on Dec 14.

I have another appointment for US visa on Dec 28th. Need travel for it on 27th. I hope i'll recieve the passport early. One of friend recieved back her passport in 2-3 days. So i also thought it wont take longerbut it doesnt seem so :-(.

I got an email from IRCC saying my TRV was shipped back today but my tracker hasn't been activated.
did you apply inside Canada? and when was your application approved? Mine got approved on December 15th but still, the tracker hasn't been activated. was hoping to get my passport back by Friday but it seems unlikely now
Mine got approved on the 15th too and yeah i applied in canada. you should get it for friday don't worry much
