Question about ECA/WES

I thought I understood the degree validation requirements, but I see so many people asking about it, I even started doubting myself. I am not sure if people are over-complicating things or not.

For every foreign degree that you add to your profile, CIC clearly asks:
  • Has XXXX had an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) within the past five years for this degree, diploma or certificate?
If you say "YES", you get the points for it, send the assessment and that is it.
If you say "NO", it means you do not have it validated, then you simply do not send anything, but also do not get points for it.

Isn't how that works?
I see so many people asking whether they should have their Master's or Bachelor's all validated or not. Shouldn't everyone know whether they should send, based on this simple question, or am I missing something?

One needs to remember that in case Masters is not granted Masters equivalency but Bachelors, to be able to get points for Two or more post graduate courses, one would need to get the Bachelor's evaluated as well.

It is not clearly defined as an either/or scenario hence the confusion.

Under normal circumstances, one doesn't need to have Bachelors equivalency done if you have a Masters degree.

With the above options in place, it is smarter to get both evaluated. It might help with claiming points for two or more courses and also with the job hunt post landing to have equivalency for all qualifications done.
