Its not uncommon.

Btw have you checked your spam emails for any email from them which says 'Ready for Visa/Pret Pour Visa'?

Yes I check all emails in my mailbox and log onto my account pretty frequently and I see the status does not change.

Have you ordered GCMS notes or called your LVO?

Not sure of your visa office, but knowing the French bureaucracy...

I assume LVO = Local Visa Office. No I haven't called anyone yet, and didn't order GCMS notes. I figured it's still less than 3 months since eAOR, with 80% of applicants processed before 6 months, it's still ok I suppose. Do you think I should order them?

Also, does it make sense to call the LVO while the application is still being processed?

What I find strange is that everything was fast, but now it's slow in IP2.

Doesn't harm to order your notes. In my understanding, random applicants are selected at IP2 for security screening.. perhaps your notes will show something.

Actually, some people think it may have chance to speed up the process. May or may not, noone is sure etc... but at least to extract your notes, they have to touch your file. I have no idea if it's a legend or not and probably depends on the LVO, the Officer etc... but my application went faster after I ordered the notes. Coincidence or not, I'll never know.

Otherwise, you can still call/email CIC or your LVO. As long as you don't harass them every week and depending on which Officer picks up the phone, they might or might not give you info on the status of your application.

Wow, thanks for the info, I didn't know that. I'll probably email CIC and order the notes afterwards I do not get a reply.

You can use Hangout app on your smartphone to call Canada/CIC for free... I always preferred to speak to an agent rather than writing emails.

That makes sense.

Calling a Canadian number over hangouts is very cheap, but not totally free :) (Lol just checked, it’s 1 cent a minute, yes it’s basically free ^^)

In my case, it was 100% free. Perhaps it depends on the country or something but I live in Japan and didn't have to pay anything. Several applicants from India also use Hangouts and mentioned it was free too.

Do you know if I could more details on my application using that eCAS thing? https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do?lang=en

I tried but I get : "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided."

Maybe eCAS doesn't work with the Express Entry online applications?
