It was electronic. That just the method of which the fingerprints are processed.

I didn’t have them sent directly to IRCC as I hadn’t received the letter yet, so I didn’t know which processing office they had to be sent to. I had saw the update on ECAS and confirmed it was a FP request with the call centre so I knew I had to get it done.

It’s a delay of one day - as they will arrive at the IRCC office tomorrow am. It was another day until I received the letter so they wouldn’t have arrived at IRCC before tomorrow anyway so technically, no delay.
Pls clarify the below question:
1. Are they generally asking for finger prints after the file is in process stage?
2.What do they mention it as in ECAS(reg FP)
3.In case if they update in ECAS that they need FP, what should one do? Where do get the FP's done and submit?
Thanks for the reply.

I didn't get an FP request (yet), but have read about it a lot on this forum.

1) As mentioned earlier, during the processing stage
2) ECAS doesn't mention FP explicitly, but does mention that some correspondence has been sent to you. The wording is generic indicating an FP request
3) https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/become-canadian-citizen/apply/submit-fingerprints.html

They send out complete instructions, so don't worry about it.

TBH, I'm almost certain that sending these inquiries has nothing to do with AOR. There is no way this would lead to agents at the Sydney office ruffling through all the received packages to locate yours. IMO, it was a total coincidence that folks got AOR after sending the inquiry. But I do understand the impatience, as my AOR was a little delayed too. I was spamming IRCC's facebook/twitter feeds, but I knew it won't help. It will come when it's time. Good luck!
I agree with him, getting this response doesn't mean that your application was lost, it means they didn't open it yet.
