I have to disagree with the answer above! Once you apply through CEC you are promising to plan to live outside of Quebec. It is outlined perfectly
twice on the requirements page:
- You must plan to live outside the province of Quebec
This being said, plans change and nobody is there to prevent you to move to Montreal. The red flags will wave around in your history when you apply for your citizenship. There has been cases that they were called in for interviews. Just make sure you have enough documentation to convince the officer and outline the reasons why you moved to Montreal. Some people prove they couldn't find the job they were looking for in their province and they back it up with the amount of applications they sent during their job hunting.
I'm not trying to freak you out or anything, just bare in mind that there would be a slight of a chance for some questions to be asked, since you initially signed your papers not to move to Quebec.
