Good afternoon,

I need some help.

This morning I received the CPCO-FinalRequest / CTDO-DemandeFinale (CIC) "Ready for Visa / Prêt pour Visa" email. At first I thought it was not legit (I expected all communications to go through the Express Entry website), but from what I have read here it seems to be the normal process and actually good news.

My problem is that my file seems to have been sent to the wrong immigration office: I live in Paris, France - where there is an immigration office - but the email I received says that I am a resident of Iran (a country where I have never been), and asked me to go to the Istanbul or Ankara offices, in Turkey, to provide my passport.

Has anyone had a similar issue in the past?
I thought I would email the immigration office and ask them to make the necessary corrections. Is this the way to go? If so, should I email my request to the Turkish offices (info.canadatrank@vfshelpline.com) or to the Paris one (parisimmigration@international.gc.ca) ? (or both?)

I only have 30 days to provide my passport, so I'd like to find the quickest way to solve this.
Many thanks in advance for your help! :)

First of all lol

Now, you need to raise a webform query using the following link:

Hi Mamgain,

Thank you very much for your quick response !
I had a look at the webform, however I also need to select the Visa office processing my application.
Should I choose the Turkish one (since it is where my application seems to be sitting right now) or the Paris one (which is where my application should normally be processed)? Any idea?

You should call CIC and ask them for next steps. They will tell you to whom you need to email. That's the way to go. Visa offices take very long time to respond generally.

I say raise webform for Turkish and then email Paris giving them a detailed account of what has happened so far and the fact that you have raised a webform to turkey office.

This should cover both bases and then hopefully they can sort it out among themselves.

Thank you very much for all your responses.

Regarding cpc Ottawa - my understanding is that it is only for people already living in Canada, which is not my case. Is this correct ?
Regarding calling - the only number I have been able to find does not work from outside Canada. I am still looking if I can find a way.

For now I have sent an inquiry via the webform to the Paris office (@mamgain : I did not see your response before doing so, and when I rechecked the email I realised it is still signed "IRCC Paris", eventhough the content refers to Iran, so I am not sure where my application really is anymore).
However they say they can take up to 28 days to respond, which is an issue considering I only have 30 days to provide the required documents.

So I am still looking for a solution...
Do you think sending my inquiry via email to the Paris (and maybe also Turkish) office with "URGENT" in the subject would be of any help?

Yes, you can do that. Anything to get their attention within time.

Yes, but CPC Ottawa is more or less like a HQ for CIC. they may be able to give pointers or even change something. No harm in dropping them an email, they are are much better responsive than local VOs.

OK, thank you .
I have just sent an email to the Paris office.
I will probably also send one to the Turkish office asking if my application is with them, to cover both grounds just in case.

Hi,

To keep you updated and in case this can be useful for someone else in the future :
- I received an email from the Paris office around lunch time yesterday, providing me with the list of documents to send them and the IRCC Paris address. This was in response to the email I sent them.
- I received a second "Ready for Visa" email this morning, as well as an update on my account, providing me with the same info. I am guessing this is in response to my initial webform query.

As you can see, they have been very quick to respond to both queries, so I guess only one query via email or webform would have been sufficient (but their webform information with regard to normal response time was a little scary...).

I sent my document this morning and am now waiting for the final papers! :)

So many thanks for your help!
And many thanks to the IRCC Paris office for their responsiveness.

Have a nice day.
