Help, six months and still processing!

Hello all,
I have been accepted with a graduate scholarship and was supposed to start on the fall semester of 2017. I didn't get an update on my visa back then; therefore, i had to defer my admission from the fall to winter semester of 2018.
I applied on 04 June 2017 and have been waiting for 6 months. So far, i have no info on my application and my supervisor is asking me about it.
Multiple contacts with the embassy led me nowhere. What should i do? Any suggestions or help?

Contact the MP of the city you are going to ask your supervisor to give all your info DOB application no. etc

if something like this happens to someone, where visa still shows being processed for such a long time, can't the student just file a new application??

What is your profile? And what is the status on CIC?

Why would someone file a new application while the original one is still being processed! it'll take more time and effort

what's the MP? and do you mean that i should tell my graduate supervisor to contact the embassy with my info?

The status on CIC is like this:
Application status We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you. Help - Application status
Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements. Help - Review of eligibility
Review of medical results You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes. Help - Review of medical results
Review of additional documents We do not need additional documents. Help - Review of additional documents
Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes. Help - Interview
Biometrics We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes. Help - Biometrics
Background check We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information. Help - Background check
Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

this has been shown to me since the first day i linked my application to my account a month ago.

Same bro.. Im at the same position as you. I applied on 6th sept. Linked 27 nov and has been on the same stage as you are on.

MP is member of Parliament you should give your contact info application info number uci etc ti your supervisor and ask him to contact his city MP and tell that your application has passed 6 months and you got nothing the MP will then ask for you consent and then call IRCC and ask for the actual status of your application. You should write a convincing email that makes the MP actually care and ask on your behalf. Also if the MP declines to do so you should order GCMS notes on your application that would bring attention to your application as a visa officer checks the GCMS notes before releasing them and that would definitely make him or her realise that your application is still lying there. Do this as soon as you can bcs gcms notes can take a month to be released

Should i contact the MP or my graduate supervisor? I’m in Jordan and my suprrvisor is in Canada. Which one should write it?

well waiting for over 2 months doesn't make any logical sense. Is getting a visa approved the only motive of someones life, I guess not. A lot of decisions get pushed because of untimely update from CIC officials, my concern in more with those regards.
