Uploading more than 2MB (IMM5532E) to IRCC Web Form

I am trying to update my application (already received, linked to online account, etc) using the IRCC web form (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp). Specifically, I need to adjust the IMM5532E form.

However, when I try to upload this form, it's refused since "Files must be 2 MB or smaller. If you include multiple files, the total size must be 3.5 MB or smaller.". FYI the original empty IMM5532E form is 2.2MB, and my filled out version is 2.3MB.

Has anyone else encountered this? Anyway to work around it? Or do I just need to report a technical problem?

There are several websites that will allow you to compress the file size of your pdfs and still retain a decent quality look.

I used this one https://www.ilovepdf.com/compress_pdf

Just double-checking: you've tried submitting a compressed pdf from this tool with IRCC, and they had no complaints? Wasn't sure it would be acceptable since it's not just a scanned image or anything, but a programmed form pdf (or whatever the technical name is).

Yes. I used this to upload a pdf IRCC form. No complaints. Just be sure that the quality is high enough to be legible.

And just wanted to confirm the compression worked well for me (very readable --- can't see difference --- and free). I chose the middle option (moderate quality and compression), and it reduced from 2.3MB to 1.9MB (i.e. 17% reduction).
