I am working through the document checklist for my husbands spouse sponsorship application. On part B - Supporting Documents Required, #3 asks if we have a child together which may have a claim to Canadian citizenship. I just recently gave birth to our daughter in Canada and I am a Canadian citizen. She would have a claim to Canadian citizenship as she already has a Canadian birth certificate. The question then says that I must attach proof of application of proof of citizenship for our child. Do I really need to apply for proof of citizenship if my daughter already has a Canadian birth certificate?
