We submitted on May 10th 2017. Everything after (medical, aor2, police check, etc) happened within 2.5 months - relatively fast. Our background check has been in progress since the beginning of July and no news since then. Actually got a bit worried our police check never made it to Mexico as we had over 4 months with no confirmation it was successfully received (and GCKEY says they need more documentsfrom us), so we sent a letter (we are living in Oaxaca right now so it was fast and easy) to confirm they got it. They replied the next day saying yes and our file is in line to be reviewed and nothing else is needed from us. I think they are super busy - seem to be one of the slower VOs and the earthquake slowed things down too. All we can do is wait patiently but I am thinking within thr next month, month and half we should hear something.
Hey you!
I can't find a post from you, but seem to remember seeing something about you guys having gotten DM?? Is this true?
You say your background check was in progress for a long time. On GCKey today ours changed to "We are processing you background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."- Does this mean BC IP in Mexico VO terms?
I really hope you two have gotten some happy Christmas news! :)

Quick question! My husband will hopefully be getting his passport back next week, im scared to buy him just a one way tkt
To canada and have him be bombarded with questions at the airport in Guatemala as to why only one way since he'll only have the visa on his passport not P.R apparrntly u gt that once u land, should i buy him a roundtrip or will he get additional documents attached with his passport that'll be enough to prove his PR status for a one way tkt?
My husband flew a few times from Guate to Canada with his visitor visa. A couple of times they let him through no problem with a one way flight. This last time (with Avianca) they would not let him board. We just bought a return ticket right there and cancelled it one we got to Canada.

It might be different with the PR visa in his passport though, I’m not sure. Maybe buy a return just in case, but get a refundable one.

Hello! No unfortunately we have not gotten DM yet. Our background check has been in process for about 5 months now. Not sure what is going on with that. I know that our GCKey has had some technical issues. We were concerned for a while that Mexico VO never got our police check as we didn't hear anything back and additional documents changed to "we need more documents to continue to prcoeds your application. We will send a message with more details". We thought this meant they didn't get it so we sent a letter directly to Mexico regarding this. They said they got it and they do not need anything else from us. That was about a month ago. We are hoping to hear news very soon.
Good to hear your background check is in process! Hopefully you will get a DM soon! When did you apply? :)

Our cgkey only shows med passed and interview completed, says add documents required. The rest is in process even if we have been approved and his passport and copr is on its way LOL

We even have the info letter for when he lands. So weird how they dont update the decision made as it has been made in October already

When you get PR you will get a COPR, which is a letter confirming its PR and not a tourist visa.
He does not need a return ticket.

Guys I’m so close to sending my app oh my god. How will I know what office will be handling my application? I’m applying inland by the way.
Inland, it will be a VO near you i assume, in canada; this thread is a lot for countries that uses Mexico’s VO

Oof what a saga for you guys, what month did you apply? As for us; I don't think we can be any where near DM, which is why I'm confused. We applied Sept 1, AOR1 Oct 17, File transfered to Mexico VO about 3 weeks ago. We haven't received anything like AOR2, nor anything about eligibility or medical. All that has changed (without any other communication or indication of our status) is that "We are processing your background check." on GCKEY. I'm wondering if this is one of the particularities of Mexico VO or something? Any thoughts?
