should i pay tax for a gift

hello folks , i know here may not be a right place to ask , but i have a question that you may have the answer, i got my PR on 2014 and i declared that i don't have any belonging (any furniture , ....) , now my family want to send me some furniture including carpets as a gift , ... is that OK ? or should i pay tax for it ? how does it work
can they easily ship it ?
