I called CIC yesterday and the agent found my application. It was received on October 13th as expected. But he did not give me a good news after that. Due to the load of applications they put some of the applications, including mine, in back log and we might not receive AOR for a while (till January or February as he said).

This does not seems fair since we were first in line. Why someone who applies on November should cut the line?

Do you think if we should keep calling and ask them to process our applications?
where did you get the idea that November applicants are cutting the line? no reports about AOR for November applications have been posted here

It is cic that is causing confusion by telling people to reapply. but they are doing that and doing that systematically. I tend to trust them slightly more than a random guy on internet who calls everyone else an idiot.

If that is true, I think call centre agents are fabricating "stories" because they are overwhelmed with phone calls.

1. CIC call centres are not necessarily based in Sydney (they can be anywhere in Canada).
2. Call centre agents do not have access your paper applications; especially applications that have not yet been vetted.
3. How in the world can an agent go through all those piles to find yours?
4. If they have a system that captures received applications, it does not mean they have access to the file

For a start, I'm a female.

And quite honestly, if you look at the advice on this forum throughout the years, it has become an invaluable resource for people. The help, the advice, and the opinions have, on the whole, been from a community of people all with a common goal - to achieve/maintain/extend presence in Canada.
Furthermore there have been numerous cases across this forum where member advice has far exceeded and proven wrong what a CIC agent may or may not have said. A CIC agent who themselves is not only a random but who you also have no information on. At least here you can view a member's history and can see their contribution. That CIC agent someone spoke to an hour ago? Might be their first day on the job. They are call centre people. Nothing wrong with that but that is what they do - they are not immigration agents.

So actually, I trust advice on this forum of randoms far more than I do that of a CIC call centre worker.

I did twice and got reply for both. But what they said is completely useless, telling me cannot find the info in the system along with some useless texts and links.
From what link did you do it? Because I filled the form twice and got no answer

Call them again and see what they say. I am not sure whether or not the call may be recorded or not. But what they say may help you justify your reapply, if you would like to.
I called them again today, waited for 40 minutes and then she put my on hold for 15 minutes and she hanged up without coming back to me. I will try to call tomorrow.

this forum is ripe with speculations, half-hearted information, creating meanings out of thin air from IRCC rep's words where none exists,...
Because you're causing hysteria. People are going to come here, read this guff and submit new applications which could actually cause a huge influx of needless applications which will cause huge delays. It's crazy. Actually - totally crazy bonkers mad coocoo crazy.
Let's report these insane threads that can have negative effect on ALL applications including the impatient individuals starting these none sense rants! By spamming and calling CIC you will not do anyone any good! Send your applications and have some patience for god's sake.

**ADMINS PLEASE REMOVE THESE THREADS**
I'm just explaining what happened to me as a way of sharing it with others to hear your feedbacks/comforts. If anyone thinks the situation is exaggerated or anything like that, you could explain and we understand. Otherwise there is no point in spreading hatred against us or this thread or even removing the thread.

if i gave you the impression that i am spreading hatred, that was not my intention. let me spell it out if there was a doubt, i just love this forum. everyday i look forward to the new threads and the new set of information that i get to read. i am wondering what will i do once the 3/5 rush gets back to normalcy. regarding threads, no need to remove any threads, in fact i say create more...

This thread is insane.
FWIW: I'm also an October applicant (post C6) waiting on AOR.

First up:
Calling, mailing, web-forming, whatever contact you choose with CIC is likely to yield nothing. Nada. Zip. What it is guaranteed to do is take resources away from CIC dealing with other issues - therefore increasing the work load and further delaying applications.

CIC Agents are call centre folks. They do not process applications - they will have access to certain information for sure but they are not immigration officers. The information they give can be trusted to a certain extent but in terms of processing etc, I wouldn't take their word as gospel.

What happens to applications that arrive on say October 18? And then October 19? I don't know - they may be stamped with date received but are they separated in to piles and everything divided up equally so that people opening the envelopes only do so in order of receipt? Are people prevented from opening envelopes from say October 21 when others are still opening October 18 because they got more October 18 envelopes than the others? I don't know.

The bottom line is that CIC processing time is officially 12 months for standard cases. There is no AOR commitment timeline. There is also THOUSANDS more applicants since the rules changed. You can see on the spreadsheet - 650+ recorded on this forum alone vs under 100 for previous months. Not every application will be on this forum. Has CIC brought on extra resources to deal with it? Who knows but I doubt it - there is no benefit for them to spend extra $$$ on more resources.

So yeah - it makes sense that AORs are going to be delayed. AVERAGE is there for a reason - people get below average and people get above average. It's maths.

So for the love of everything Canadian, please, please stop creating hysteria, stop hounding CIC and just let things run its course.
Thanks for the feedback. I really wish what you said is true.
In any case, we have no other way to wait right now.
