That's okay. Now you will apply to CNO and then they will send you a letter telling you what your next steps should be. They may ask for some information from your previous nursing employers or they may ask you to complete an assignment or do an exam. "Somewhat comparable" does not mean you are our forever, it just means you will likely have to do some other things before you can get your license. So my advice would be to apply to CNO if you haven't already. NNAS will send your Advisory Report to CNO and CNO will advise you what to do.

Hi guys,
Just wondering, was anyone aware that the evaluators at IENCAP will be volunteers?!?!?! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the posting from CNO (on Facebook, Nov 24) asking for volunteer nurses to assess/evaluate IENs at IENCAP. I knew IENCAP was problematic. But seriously?!
Those attempting IENCAP are paying $500 to take an exam that they can only take once, which has the potential to determine whether they can become licensed in Ontario (and inevitably for many, determines whether or not Canada is an option for immigration because many cannot immigrate to a place where they cannot be gainfully employed in their profession...). At 60 people per group, 4 groups at a time and 2 sessions per day, a total of 460 people taking the IENCAP per test date, that's $230,000 in exam fees per exam date. And if some or all assessors are not paid...
To make it even better, evaluators are only trained once, the night before the exam date. That's the only training they undergo! Aside from being a RN in Ontario without restrictions etc, they need only have 6 months of nursing work experience within the last 3 years. And it doesn't have to be clinical experience. So technically those taking the test in the new year could be evaluated by RN's who spent 6 months writing nursing policy from Jan-June 2015. I do not see this as a fair or valid assessment whatsoever, especially considering Canadian educated nurses are evaluated by nurses who are paid and obligated to keep up with current practices as well as current nursing evaluation practices. I just can't believe this is allowed and this is considered a valid exam! Ludicrous!

Oh interesting. It doesn't specify that it is volunteer on the CNO website, but it also does not discuss payment at all either. And on CNO Facebook page, they stated that it was volunteer. Hmmm.
The one training session the night before the exam is very concerning as well!

Guyz, i heard that PearsonVUE has a trend of changing the exam pattern every three year, does anybody have the information on next expected change?
Hey guys...im going back home march then go to the states to work this is stupid...no respect, no professionalism, no organization, Canada is doing false advertising and ive been fooled. They dont need RNs. The need over educated RPNs, PSWs, LPNs and over qualified people to work in there factories and infrastructure making minimum wage. Not me CNO not me. I worked too hard to be where i am, im not to be put down for so long in such a way. By the time i get my licenses it would have been what maybe 2yrs worst if they ask me to take OSCE after with no recent clinical practise. Thats setting me up to fail...but life goes on....disappointed.
Well, in my opinion, your expectations were not realistic. It takes anywhere around 2 years to get license having the following time lines.
NNAS --> 6 months
CNO --> 1 month if they refer you to OSCE
OSCE exam --> 3- 6 months approx as dates are not readily available
Post OSCE exam --> takes 2 months to announce result.
OSCE passed then NCLEX --> Take most optimize date of 1 month
CNO assessment after passing NCLEX --> I don't know but possible 2 months
Thus, as all above tasks are sequential (unless you have gives NCLEX earlier) then it will take around 18 to 30 months to get license, if all goes well. Therefore, I can not emphasises further that do not step into Canada unless you have booked OSCE exam
I understand the time taken by them are nothing but waste of time. You can go for 3 years RN from scratch in these timelines
It has been a year and a half since ive applied..ive already done NCLEX before moving here.
The problem is not so much the process its how they treat you during the process that makes it such a bad experience
The last i heard from CNO was that they upgrading there system.
The last thing they ask for was my job description from the begining of the year
That is quite surprising as they assessed my JDs in May 2017 within 2 months & refer me to give OSCE.
