Please advise if I can show the statement of my joint account with my dad? Applicants are me and my husband and our children and not the parents though.

Please advise a way to use my joint account with my father as a financial proof?

No you can't. It has to be in your name or a joint account in you and your husbands name.
You might be able to get around this by showing a gift deed from your dad (I'm not sure)

A gift deed or an affidavit would do the job for you. Ask your father to help you with this.

The principal applicant for the PR is myself. However the amount is in a joint account of my husband and his father. Pls advise if the gift deed or an affidavit from his father to him is enough?

Since I am the principal applicant should I also show an account balance under my name?

The funds can be either in your name or your spouse. So ask your susar ji to give a gift deed of funds to your hubby.
I hope it calrify the matter.
