I have the required amt of proof of fund. I received it from my dad as a gift. I opened a new acc and created a new FD. Will this be accepted? What additional doc r required to prove this as proof of fund??

A simple statement of that FD account will suffice.
You do not need to produce any other document for this.
FD's are widely used and accepted.

Some users send a 'gift deed' which I find simply unnecessary.
No parent makes a gift deed when giving money to their children!

I used an FD statement (FD created on the day before application submission) as my POF.
My brother did the same (he had several loans and credit cards in other bank accounts!) and we got the PR.

I would suggest you to make everyone's life easy. Get a statement from your FD account and get done and dusted!

Good luck!

The truth is, I haven't faced any 'Troubles' at all.
I was worrying, I was super stressed but CIC did not ask for any additional document!
If I look at the process now, It looks super smooth and was duly processed within their 6 months processing timeframe.

If you can keep that in mind (that it will take 6 months) and do not expect an update every other day, you will be fine too.
I know it is difficult to be patient in wait, but TBH, no matter what you do, it will not speed up the processing time.

Good luck to you!

That's almost 6 months. I have heard of cases that got processed and approved in a very short time. I wonder if there are many of them.
Recently, some applications are processed very quickly. But those are rare cases.
Usually, most applications take 4/5 months on average.

Some people get worried and start doing all sorts of things once they see other people reporting their files were processed quickly.
