Hey guys, im in the pool since August with 428 points. Im eligible for both the canadian experience class and the federal skilled worker. My question is, when I get an ITA (hopefully in Dec or Jan) can I choose which program to apply for? Or does CIC automatically choose me which program to apply. I would obviously prefer the canadian experience class since its less time consuming. For example, i dont have to show proof of funds for this program

Please check your EE profile. The stream might have already been allotted to you. You can log in to your gc key and know if you are in CEC or FSW. Most probably I think you will be in CEC coz as soon as you enter the Canadian experience you will be allotted to CEC. Your ITA will be according to your EE profile.

WORK EXPERIENCE DOCUMENTS
Document(s) required:
You must provide electronic copies of your work experience documents.
Your and your spouse’s (if applicable) entire work history has to be supported by reference letters and
other relevant documentation confirming the employment history indicated in the application for
permanent residence to Canada.
IMPORTANT: In order to meet the minimum eligibility requirements for the Federal Skilled Worker Class
(FSWC), you must have accumulated at least one year of continuous, full-time, paid work experience, or
the equivalent part-time work experience, in the past 10 years preceding the date of your CIC profile
submission. Such work experience must be in the occupation that is listed in Skill type 0 (Managerial
Occupations), Skill Level A (Professional Occupations) or B (Technical Occupations and Skilled Trades) of
the National Occupation Classification (NOC) 2011. To find out more information about the Skill Level of
your occupation, please contact your Documentation Specialist or visit the Canadian National Occupation
Matrix at:

In order to get eligibility and CRS points for your work experience, you need to prove that you
performed the actions described in the lead statement and performed a substantial number of the main
duties, including all of the essential duties, as set out in the occupational descriptions of the National
Occupational Classification (NOC). Please consult the NOC website at
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/Welcome.aspx to verify that your reference letter
corresponds with the NOC description. If you have any questions, please contact your Documentation
Specialist.
Your documents must demonstrate that you performed the duties set out in the lead statement of the
occupational description of your NOC and performed a substantial number of, including all the essential
duties and most of the main duties listed. If you do not submit work documents in the format required
by CIC, the government of Canada may refuse your application.
Required format of work reference letter: The reference letter is an official document printed on
company letterhead and must include your name, the company’s contact information (address,
telephone number and e-mail address), the signature of your immediate supervisor or personnel officer
at the company and a business card of the person signing the letter. The letters must contain ALL of the
following information for each position held in the company:
o Exact start date (and end date if applicable);
o Job title;
o Job status (if current job)
o Number of hours you work(ed) per week;
o A DETAILED list of your everyday duties or responsibilities;
o NOTE: Your duties should not be copied verbatim from the NOC website
o Your annual salary plus benefits.
You must scan all documents for this work experience and save them as one file. (Each work experience
requires a separate file).
If you or your spouse/common-law partner has worked in Canada for at least one (1) year in the last 10
years, you must provide the following documents for each position held:
o Reference letter(s) in the above format;
o T4 tax information slips;
o Notices of Assessment (NOA) and Option C printouts issued by Canada Revenue Agency;
o Copy of your work permit/employment authorization.
If you are self-employed, please note that self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable
proof of work experience. You must provide the following documents:
o Articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership;
o Evidence of self-employment income;
o Documentation from third party individuals indicating the service provided along with
payment details.
The documents mentioned above are MANDATORY. Failure to provide these documents may result in
the rejection or refusal of your application. Also, kindly note that final assessment of your reference
letters is at the full discretion of the immigration authorities. As such, it is highly recommended that
you comply with the above instructions.
If you or your spouse cannot get a letter of reference for a position you held, or if your letter of
reference does not contain all of the above information, your application will be at high risk of refusal. In
lieu of a work reference letter, you will need to submit as many of the following additional documents as
possible. Every effort to submit a complete work reference letter should be made before submitting any
of the following:
• Employment verification letter (a letter containing only minimum information confirming that
you work(ed) for the company and in what position, ideally with mention of the salary);
• Employment contract or appointment letter;
• Employment offer letter;
• Deputation letter (if your company transferred you from one country or subsidiary to the other);
• Performance reviews;
• Pay slips covering at least the first three and last three months of employment;
• Bank statements showing deposit of salary;
• Proof of income tax payment;
• Reference letters from (former) supervisors, managers, HR representatives, or co-workers;
• Reference letters from customers, clients or patients, as the case may be.
In addition to any of the above, please complete and sign a declaration explaining why you or your
spouse (if applicable) cannot obtain a work reference letter in the format required by CIC, and
detailing all required information listed above.
Please note that the entire work history of both you, as the principal applicant and your spouse or
common law partner (if applicable) has to be supported by reference letters and other relevant
documentation confirming the employment history indicated in the application for permanent residence
to Canada.
IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that in the absence of a reference letter, in the format requested by CIC, the
final decision as to whether or not your additional documents are adequate evidence of your work
experience will be at the full discretion of the immigration officer who assesses your application.

That means they have given you time from 10th Nov 2017 to 9th Sep 2018, which means that they have given up to 10 months of time for you to land there. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The landing date will be your medical expiry date or the passport expiry date whichever is earlier.

“Funds must be readily available to you. For example, you can't use equity on real property as proof of settlement funds.”
Funds should be either in Savings/Current account or should be convertible to savings/current account balance almost instantaneously. That would generally leave the following options:

1. Savings/Current account balance
2. FD/RD balances. You can attach an explanation letter stating that these investments can be liquidated immediately.
3. Provident Fund. Please note that you should use only EPF balances and not the PPF balance as PPF balance can’t be liquidated in entirety. For EPF, you can attach an explanation stating that you will be leaving your current job before moving to Canada and EPF can be withdrawn after you quit your job.

   Employer’s contribution is as good as your own contribution for the purpose of “Proof of Funds”
4. Equity/Mutual Funds/Liquid Funds. Though the value changes on a daily basis, you can value these investments at the lowest traded rate over the last 6 months and attach an explanation letter for the same.

***** as your funds are in the savings account you can show the same I feel, but at the same time you need to prove that although they are fixed for a period of 5 years you can liquidate them whenever you want. If you can do this then you are good to go.*****

The validity will be same for all.
The landing process can be different.
You can either cross borders or can take an appointment with cic for landing without crossing borders.

Believe I can respond to your query

The source of fund for POF, as specified by CIC must be unencumbered and liquidated at any moment.
The fact you said your amount is locked for 5 years means it can't be liquidated at any moment which will raise ambiguity regarding your case.

Can you unlock by requesting your bank ?

You can't use it has your POF. POF are funds you can readily access anytime you want it. That money is locked for 5years and that means you cannot take it with you to Canada until after 5yrs.

You only need to provide the documents post-ITA, so if you think they'll be able to get you the documents you need within 90-days of getting your ITA, go ahead and claim the points. I don't know if you can submit the COPR in lieu of the PR card as proof of PR status though...you might want to check the forum or ask on other threads to see if you can get that answered....

*FYI, you need to get a new consultant. There is no document upload for the EE profile. You need the reference numbers from your language test results and ECA report but, otherwise, all document upload happens post-ITA. Your consultant is either (dangerously) uninformed, or trying to take advantage of you in some way.

Still one more month for your score to get reduced, which is ample amount of time for the next draw to occur.
Even with the score of 440, you are still have high probability for the invitation.
Start prepare for Post ITA documents. All the best

Hello everyone,

Can we expect a draw tomorrow, i.e., 22nd Nov, 2017 ?
Also, I wanted to know if the tie breaker is based on the first submission date or would it change based on if any changes to the profile were made post submission ? For example, I was stuck at a crs of 432 since 28th July, 2017, so I re-appeared for the IELTS exam and increased my crs to 438 and updated my profile on 8th Nov, 2017. Now, for the purpose of tie breaker which date would be used in case the next cut off is 438.

I gave my IELTS in May 2017 and my scores were S7.5, L8, R8, W6.5. With this result, I was at 374 points. I applied for revaluation of my Writing test, and my score got revised from 6.5 to 7 in August 2017. This made my CRS jump from 374 to 413. Now, if I was given 7 in my original result in May 2017 my CRS score would have been 418, because I turned a year older in August 2017 and my score decreased by 5 points. Otherwise, I would have already received an ITA in the May 31 draw which cut off at 413. Later, as we all know, the rule changes in Express Entry made the CRS cut off shoot up to 449.

I think u need to hang on for some time and pray for ontario to reopen its HCP stream. U will be in for HCP by jan or feb.

Direct ITA cannot be guaranteed at your CRS but HCP is almost confirmed.(provided u want to live in ontario)
