URGENT HELP NEEDED FSW

Hi,

I have received ITA nder FSW category. I have several questions as I put together the documents needed. I do not have a lawyer helping me so I need all the help I can get from my fellow community members here.

I applied under FSW category as I and my wife both had skilled work experience outside of Canada. We both have a Canadian Master's degree.

- Although both of us have full-time jobs now but since none of our offer letters said they were for at least one year(which is a requirement for EE profile's "Do you have a valid job offer in Canada?" question), we answered no to this question. We had enough points so we didn't want to say yes when we didn't have a letter to prove the minimum on-year requirement. Is this OK? or do we have to say yes since we are working full-time in Canada?

- Are the job-experience letters required in original? Are scanned letters enough? (I can perhaps provide copy of email the letters were sent over)?

- For NOC, I see that my job title and job duties span multiple job titles and duties as specified under same category NOC 2171 on the cic website's NOC list link. If my job experience letter covers the job duties spanning multiple job titles bt under same NOC would that be an issue? I have worked for a multinational consulting company in India, so it should have some recognition if that matters at all? Is a separate letter from a senior team member on a official letterhead a good idea? I have seen some rejections regarding NOC codes and job duties here, and I am really scared.

- What documents are required in original?

- For Indian folks here, who have done this before, Can I get the Police Certificate from Toronto consulate on same day? or the only option is to apply via BLS?

I will edit this question and ask more questions as they come to me. Thanks a lot for your guys' help.

1. You have to select "No" to the Job-Offer option anyway since you don't have LMIA and you are only working for less than a year.
2. Job offer and reference letter need to be original and signed by your employer as per CIC's requirement. Check CIC's website.
3. Choose the closest NOC that matches with most duties. Adding letter from colleague(s) is a good idea.
4. Original documents: Since you are uploading the scanned copy only (NOT SENDING IT TO CIC), all the documents that you scan need to be original and available if CIC ask for hard copy.
5. I'm not from India, therefore cant answer the last question.

1. You are not claiming points for your job in Canada, right? In that case, you did not have to provide details. You will have to record this in your personal record/activity section though.
2. No, you are only supposed to upload scans (in colour!) of the original document. CIC may ask for the original (chances are thin, very very thin!), so keep them handy.
3. No, this will not be an issue. As long as it matches (some acceptable degree of mismatch is normal, a 100% match is definitely a 'cooked-up' one!) with the NOC you applied under, it will be fine. Do not try to change the NOC now, it will only complicate things and delay the processing of your file.
4. Only scanned copies of all documents are uploaded in CIC's system. You are supposed to have them on hand and be able to produce them, should CIC ever ask for!
5. Am not Indian, someone else will probably answer this.
6. Please make your post titles relevant to get appropriate replies.

I would advise you to read up all guidance texts from CIC before filling out your form. You seem to have read little or nothing at all as of yet. If you do not read these things yourself, you will be confused in almost every step and keep seeking advice from others which may not come in time or may come in time but not being accurate. Also, applying for PR involves long and excruiciating waiting period. Being well informed will help you pass those time in peace.
Just a thought, just a thought!

Good luck!

Although this may sound dumb but can you please share links to the instructions?

Thanks for your reply. You guys are like angels who find time to help people selflessly!

Please see my follow up questions & comments in red:

1. You have to select "No" to the Job-Offer option anyway since you don't have LMIA and you are only working for less than a year. Thanks, I am working on PGWP, so my understanding was I can't claim my current job as a "valid job offer".
2. Job offer and reference letter need to be original and signed by your employer as per CIC's requirement. Check CIC's website.
3. Choose the closest NOC that matches with most duties. Adding letter from colleague(s) is a good idea. Most of my colleagues have left the firm I used to work for, would a personal letter from them work?
4. Original documents: Since you are uploading the scanned copy only (NOT SENDING IT TO CIC), all the documents that you scan need to be original and available if CIC ask for hard copy.
5. I'm not from India, therefore cant answer the last question.
Thanks! My understanding is that folks living in Canada don't require a Canadian Police certificate, is that correct?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
1 - Yes, you do not have a valid job offer.
2 - Don't bother, not needed in the first place.
3 - Yes, you don't need a Canadian PCC.

Can I decline invitation before the 90 day deadline even if I have filled out most of the information but haven't finally submitted the application (which I guess should be the same e-sign as the ee application was)?
