Did you complete the course in 2016, but only applied this year? You have to apply within 90 days of the course finishing? Sorry if I have misunderstood.

It can take three months for a PGWP to be processed. It's hard to say in your case whether the PGWP will be approved or not - that decision will be up to the visa officer. Technically to qualify for a PGWP, your studies must be continuous. Since you took a break - you do not meet the continuous study criteria. Having said that, it's quite possible you will still be approved. Unfortunately you'll just have to wait and hope for the best.

What you can do while you wait is look for an employer who may be willing to give you a full time job offer and also obtain an approved LMIA so that you can apply for a closed work permit. That way if the PGWP is refused, you have a back up plan.

I understand that. CIC may still classify it as a break. Breaks where you withdrew yourself vs. being asked to withdraw are pretty much the same thing for them.

Well hoping for best to happen as if someone doesn't want to study came back from Canada and again after a year wish to study and completed successfully doesn't get work permit it's really demotivating stuff for international students let's see thank you

I think you certainly have a good chance of being approved.

We have, however, in recent months seen CIC become far more strict with PGWP rules. So that's why I'm saying it's not guaranteed. For example, a few years ago we never saw people refused for working illegally between programs (e.g. taking two separate one year programs and working between the end of one and the start of the other). However now CIC is routinely refusing PGWP due to this illegal work.

Again, nothing you can do but wait.
