Change in immigration status during PR Application

Hi,

Please give to your comments on the below query.

An individual arrives in Canada as a Student and applies under FSW category after completing one year course. ITA is received. Candidate decides to apply for work permit while preparing documentation for submitting application. Here, if candidate applies for work permit, the status would change to 'worker' from 'student'. Does this change affect PR application in any way?
