Question for those who have received BGC in progress: did you first receive an email indicating that BGC had started? Or did you first see the change in GCKey? Just wondering if I'm obsessively checking GCKey for nothing if they're going to send an email when they change the status anyway.

You will not get an email so keep checking

I don't think they will send you email just for that, at least not our case. But you will see when they actually started BGC on the GCMS note.
I recommend ordering the note now, it will take a whole month.

From what I could see on the spreadsheet, it seems likes DM followed within a few days to about a month for most applicants. Our background check started on Oct 17, nothing new since. Hoping for something this week.

Ours started Oct 19. Hope we all get DM this week

I don't think they will send you email just for that, at least not our case. But you will see when they actually started BGC on the GCMS note.

I have uploaded Sched A, PCC, and my medical passed and got the email saying my app will be processed in Mississauga. That was October 10. My ECAS has not changed to "in process" and my GCkey hasnt updated at all either. And with a whole month gone by I've been super anxious about it because other july applicants have had theirs changed.

Ive only recently learned you can request a note that gives you info about your app. The GCMS notes. How do you go about requesting them?

How do you tell in gcms notes when bgc starts?

It will tell you right there if it is started. If not mentioned, it means not started. When GGC is all clear, there is a section saying "the relationship looks fine, no criminal record, did web search on yyy organization but nothing to worry about, etc"

Don't worry to much. I uploaded documents and passed my medical in February. ECAS still application received and medial results received, with no other updates.

My husband is American, we applied in June and just waiting for DM and PPR now. I hope you get some answers soon!

No I haven't, I only check online CIC, and ECAS. There is no updates.....EVER! They requested my medical in June and was sent day after their request....but apparently they give 30 days to send it in, and they WAIT 30 days to even look at it.....same with FBI background check...you get 90 days to send it in, sent mine same day as request and they waited 90 days before anything.....actually still waiting for a single update since then.....been 5 months no news. I'm going home for Christmas anyways, my mother has been ill and I can't wait around forever for PR....she may not be alive that long. This waiting sucks!

FBI paperwork sent in, in June. Not a single word since.....not one word. I often wonder why the heck there is a box to check that states we can get MONTHLY UPDATES...when it doesn't even happen....just remove the option eh!? Not a single update the whole time!!

That's really rough . The waiting is hard enough as it is.
I know what you mean though, checking and checking and never seeing any change.

You will only be notified if they request documents, not updates such as background started or medical passed, etc.
