What to do if the past employer denies to give you job duty letter?

Hi,

My wife's past employer has denied to give a job duty letter. They have plainly hard refused to entertain such a query. They have provided offer letter, appraisal letter, promotion letter, relieving letter etc. Salary slips as well. But they say they don't provide job duty letter to ex- employee as they don't have any mechanism to track that. What are my options?

My wife's total experience is about 5 years. 3.5 years in HDFC bank and 1.5 is current one. We can get it from current employer, but what to do about previous employer? That is the bulk of her experience? Help appreciated.

the documents they provided can help you prove employment. You can explain in the LOE that they refused to give you the needed letter. Your wife is primary applicant right?

Yes correct. Have two profile where we both are primary applicants respectively. In case of my current employer also, HR as refused to give me job duty letter. She has asked me to take from Manager and if he approves, you may get it. Will affidavit work in case I don't get it?
