I have also applied for the SOWP from my spouse on 29th, June through VFS bangalore till now no update and no news . I have applied paper based . medicals upfront ( passed).

can U share ur timeline

I havent got medicals but submitted couple of weeks back online, pcc and medicals.
So I guess i will get ppr since my medicals filed online

As of August 28, there will be an additional step for Canadian employers wishing to hire through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). A new rating system will match workers registered in the Canada Job Bank with advertised positions, and employers will be required to invite candidates who have a certain number of stars in relation to the position.

The government of Canada calls this new feature its Job Match service, and the change affects both high-wage and low-wage Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications. Employers hiring through the TFWP must first obtain a positive LMIA before a foreign worker may be hired for the position. The issuance of a LMIA serves as proof that no Canadian citizen or permanent resident was ready, willing and able to perform the job.

I have no clue for open work permit for spouse taking so much time, I guess you are in Canada now ? Are you on WP visa or PR ? According to my knowledge for SOWP it should not take so long, please get in touch with VFS or check if document pending .

I am currently on a work permit which expires in 2019 feb , the VFS in bangalore does not tell you anything they do not connect you to the executive . Did u try calling them ..?

Initially you have to give IELTS, then get your WES (Graduation or PG attested) done , get job offer letter then Positive LMIA, next apply for Police clerance certificate and finally apply for work permit and wait for your medical test.
