Hi all,
I have been thinking about taking some action about this ridiculous processing time!
I applied for PR under Ontario PNP in Feb 2015 and I am still waiting. I applied for a bridging open work permit twice and every year I have no health insurance for at least 4 months (while waiting for my new permit)!!!
I keep asking myself why should I pay taxes while my health expenses are all on me for at least 4 months!
Why should I pay about 500$ to CIC every year for renewing my permit and visa while this is CIC's problem that they do not have enough resources to take care of our application within that 16 months that they promised? Are they making a business out of this?I wanted to cancel the application at some point and apply from EE but what happens to that 2000$ that I paid for this application?

I am pretty sure there are many people in the same boat as me.

What is your idea about taking the problem to media? I have a small group of my friends here who have the same issue but need more people to support the idea.

Seems that it's a common issue with Iranians. We also have a group of Iranian inland PNP applicants who applied in 2015 and still waiting for a decision.

May I know when did you send your federal application to CIO Sydney?

I sent my application in Feb 2015.
The problem is the security screening and there is no guarantee if you apply through EE you get it faster. A person from our group (Aug 2015) got his PPR after an interview with Torontostar. I guess the best option is federal court. Our group average wait time is 24 months. What is your group average wait time??

We have already contacted CBC and CTV but we haven't got any response yet. Does any one know somebody in CBC to contact directly? I am open to suggestions if you have a direct contact in any other media channels as well

It takes time and you need to follow up constantly. The best option is Nicholas Keung from Torontostar. He already interviewed with some of us and we are still waiting for the story to be published.

Did you contact CSIS and CBSA for your security status? When CSIS completed your security screening?

I didn't contact them about the security status. I called CIC in June before renewing my work permit that was expiring in Aug. They said that they will request my passport "soon" and they will reimburse my work permit application fee. But they asked me to apply so I do not get into trouble at the border when I am landing. I got my new work permit and still waiting...

Sdaf,

My friend and I who are Iranian have same situation. I applied on August 2015 and she applied on September 2015. I ordered GCMS, contacted MP and CBSI. Nothing Nothing and Nothing. I still can not understand what is CIC trying to find in my past since I lived in Canada for almost 6 years.

Did you meet with MP or did you call them?

You should order CSIS and CBSA notes to see if your security screening has been completed or not! CIC call center is not useful and probably you can start the legal process since Feb 2015 is near 3 years!!

I am from Pakistan, I applied on 31 July 2015 with one dependent, still waiting for security check.

When I see some guys from Feb 2015 I become more worried.

I tried every thing except media.

MP and call center are useless.

I stop ordering GCMS notes because it dont have any specific info related to security.

I ordered CSIS note, I was not able to understand where I can check the status either its completed or not.
But the weird part in my CSIS notes is that dates and duration of stay on different locations was wrong which causes delay in security check.

I meet lawyer, he suggested me to spend 5000 CAD and a process of 1 year to submit a case in court to change the case officer.

Its a very painful for every one who stuck in it.

last guy I know who escape from this painful process was KOKA , he was 14 June 2015 applicant and he got his PPR in September or October
