Or we are supposed to check ecas regularly and see if there is something scheduled?

What's a physical email ? They will send invitation via snail mail / regular Canada Post, as well as your ECAS will indicate you have been sent correspondence and have been invited for test on some date.

Not really. I never received anything per mail, only ecas update and email.
You need to check Ecas updates and your email. Make sure you check your spam folder.
If you have not given them your email when you applied then it should come per mail.

No. Mine did not. I have never received anything per mail, exclusively email.
