Hello,

My name is Altaf khan and i am from India. I need a help and an opinion from you and your team. I have a couple in my view who are living in Canada and are the citizen of Canada and well. This is an old Muslim couple who is residing in Canada since 40 yrs and now they are in their old age. Now, this couple wants to adopt a child in this age as there is no one to support them in Canada and unfortunately they don't want rely on someone. So they have planned to adopt a child from India and he is an adult of age 24(unmarried). Luckily that adoption child and his parents are blood relatives(maternal) and agreed to that couple for adoption. Also they want to bring him to Canada along with them and provide him with a PR so that they can live together happily. Now the main concern is, is thing thing possible and permissible according to Canadian rules?

Regardless of the adoption process. They cannot sponsor the "child" who is over 22 to immigrate to Canada.

1. In short it isn't going to happen. IRCC will see it as a plan to get the person into Canada.

Agree with everyone else it won’t happen. Not quite sure you can adopt an adult and even if you can in India it would be seen as an adoption of convienience.

What everyone else has said - not possible. A 24 year old is an adult - not a child.

If the 24 year adult wishes to immigrate to Canada he will have to qualify on his own through an economic immigration stream like Express Entry based on his education, work experience, language skills and more. Details here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp
