Spousal application - Linking application to account

Hello,

My husband received an email from CIC asking him to link his application to his account, however, I have yet to receive my letter stating that I was approved to sponsor. Is that normal?

Yes that’s normal he got AOR. sponsor approval comes later. What’s your timeline, when did they receive your application? Inland or Outland?

Outland. According to UPS they received my application at their mailroom on Sept 22nd. My husband just received an email this morning asking him to link his application to his account. It didn’t work so we were locked out, gonna attempt again tomorrow. I just found it odd that I haven’t received my letter of sponsorship approval yet, I was under the impression that it came first before asking to link application.

No, not necessarily, some people never get it. It can be inconsistent.

I also received an email this morning with my own UCI number letting me know that they’ve started processing his application on the 1st. Hoping that everything is ok and that they won’t return it!
