Sponsor and me both living together, PCC is being delayed

Hello,

I am married to a Canadian citizen and both of us are living outside Canada. After our marriage I managed to obtain a TRV and went to Canada earlier this year. We hired a lawyer in Canada and he is processing our documents. We came back to our current home after that. The lawyer filed the application in August. We received AOR2 and sponsorship approval on early October. CIC asked for a police clearance certificate and history of my activities and the letter said this has to be submitted by October. Our lawyer didn't get the mail until October 20th. By the time he got back to us and asked for the documents it was not possible to get the PCC by October. I have applied for it, but it may take couple of weeks. The lawyer has contacted CIC and requested some time for the PCC, but I am worried that this delay might jeopardize our application. I am also surprised that they gave only 19 days for the PCC. Please help me providing more information who has been to the similar condition. Thanks.

People request PCC extension all of the time. Don't worry about it.

Hope your lawyer submitted an outland rather than inland application.

My local Police Office took 3-4weeks for the PCC and they did the mailing to IRCC on their own, which took them 5-6weeks in total. What I did was uploading the receipt of the PCC from local Police dept to Webform and explain to them my local will send it directly to IRCC and it will beyond the deadline.

Thanks for your response. I'm feeling better than I was earlier today. And, yes the lawyer submitted an outland application. My VO is Singapore.

I sent the copy of receipt that shows that I have applied for PCC. Hopefully I'll get the PCC in a week.
