Good Afternoon,

From my understanding, if you have submitted an email address with the Citizenship application the AOR will be emailed to you by IRCC. If that is indeed the case, how do we make sure that that specific email doesn't end up in the SPAM filter? I get hundreds of SPAM emails a day, and empty the SPAM folder without giving it a second look. Looking to see if the members here have a strategy to deal with this.

Thanks

You have given IRCC consent when you write your email address to your form, to receive correspondence from them through the interweb.

None have the guarantee AOR will not end up on your spam folder.
They mentioned you check it from time to time and add their address to your trusted list.

One option is to whitelist the email domain used by IRCC.
If you have provided a gmail account, you can whitelist the ircc email domain "cic.gc.ca" using instructions provided at https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-whitelist-a-sender-or-domain-in-gmail-1172106

Yes, do check your spam folder and ecas regularly! There is somebody on this forum who did not do this and he missed his test.

Thank you for the help - this was very useful! I have white-listed the CIC domain now. Let's hope the AOR wasn't deleted from previous SPAM folder erasures. Going to check the Status Update / ECAS system to see if there has been any update.

I have white-listed the CIC domain now, although that doesn't preclude the possibility that a potential AOR notification was deleted in the past. Checking ECAS is doing nothing for me either, since it's unable to find anything using my Client ID # and other details. To me this seems like a case of the AOR not having been issued yet, but I have read other people have had issues with the ECAS system (i.e. AOR was issued but ECAS would not pull up anything), so I'm probably going to check in with the CIC helpline just in case.

I can only speak for myself: every time I got an email shortly after the was an update on Ecas. I do not know when you applied but it will take some time until AOR. I would not phone them. Eventually your file will be updated on Ecas.

Just delete your Spams carefully like everyone until you get your AOR which is not hard, Its less likely it will end up in JUNK/SPAM. average people get 5-10 spams a day, I usually get 1 a week and block right away. you must have signed up everywhere lol.

You really need to work on this, block domains filter etc
As for your post, you can always search ALL emails for keywords, white list as per previous posts, keep an eye on spam - since we are seeing AORs coming within 2 weeks now

Is ECAS being updated when people get their AOR? Any idea on that?

I know, which is why it kind of threw me off when I started seeing people commenting on having received AOR eventhough the initial timeline was 30-40 days from IRCC's receipt (which for me was Oct 16th).
