Hello All,

Please give your input. I am to confused for this
I have doubt for question 9B. My first work permit expired on 14th January,2014 and I got other one on 23 January, 2014 which was already applied before my old work permit expired. should i mention this gap in question 9B? If yes what status should i select?
I too applied for 2 work permits when I was a temporary resident. What I mentioned is the date I first got my first work permit to the day I got my PR. I did not mention anything in between. Reason being, my status did not change. I just applied for an extension.

The only reason anyone would have to mention multiple work permits would be when there is a change of status in between, In you case (and mine), just mention the work permit date once.

No, you do not have to mention your vacation address. Just your CANADIAN home address. Same thing for your visit to India. Unless you were staying out of Canada indefinitely, you don't have to mention any other addresses.
Thanks for the quick reply

Residence outside canada form need to be filled in my case ,as i stayed outside for 2 months ??

That is the confusing part. Technically you only have to fill that form if you are claiming those days outside of Canada. That's only for people and families who have stayed outside of Canada as part of the Canadian forces, public administration or public service. I don't think that applies to either one of us.

In the question 9C; During you eligibility, did you live outside of Canada, select no and add a letter that you have visited other countries as a visitor and this question does not apply to you.

Hey @spyfy

In both the physical calculator and the application form, should I enter dates when I FIRST obtained student or work visas or should I just enter dates pertaining to the eligibility period?

I arrived in Canada as a student in August 2012. My eligibility period is between November 2012 to November 2017.

Thank you.

It's enough if you enter nov 2012 to [end date]
but I am sure that it is also totally fine if you enter aug 2012 to [end date]

Quick question...

Say I started a job in 2012/02. When I put in the dates for employment and residences, should I write 2012/10 in the "From" field (the start of the eligibility period), or provide the entire time I have been employed or living at that residence?
Eligibility period is important so if you start with 2012/10, that will serve the purpose.

Hello everyone, Hi @spyfy Thank you for this great forum! Really I am grateful!
Can someone help me here please?
I have landed in 2005, but since then I never managed to fulfill the citizenship requirements. but I always managed to live the 2 years so I can keep my PR active. I have applied for citizenship in 2010 but withdraw my application later on as I was missing some papers.

My questions are:
1- In question 3, Shall I mention that I have applied for citizenship before? Or this does not count? Would this affect my application?

2- During my stay outside I did not work for Canada Govt. So do I have to fill CIT0177 "Residence Outside Canada" Form? Nothing in the form applies to me or my wife?

3- In question 9 in my young child application, Do I have to list all the details when my child left Canada since he became a PR in 2005 or only last 5 years? Also, do I include information when he left for 6 months or longer or EVERY signle day he was out? I do not remember all days he left since 2005 :-( But I can manage to get information for last 5-7 years maybe.

I appreciate all your help!

Hi @spyfy. For the physical presence calculator, I have entered all the dates correctly, however the number of days are not matching the dates eg from October 1 to October 20 I was out of the country, but the number of days that was automatically populated is 9.5 instead of 18 days! Has this happened to anyone else, is it okay to send it in even with the incorrect # of days even though I have the correct dates submitted??
Thank you for your help.
You may want to try again using different explorer. I wouldn't recommend to send it as it is calculated incorrectly.

But if this period belongs to before becoming PR but within eligibility period, then calculation is correct.

1. I believe, processing on application started but you withdrawn later. So you should answer YES and attach explanatiin letter stating all facts.

2. You would answer YES along with an explanation letter that you are not attaching form as it is not applicable to you.

3. If question asks for eligibility period only then mention for 5 years only.

Hope this help.

Thank you Abu Hassaan for the answers. As for my question # 3:
In the minors application, Question 9B says: Has the child left Canada for a total of 6 months or longer SINCE becoming a PR? Then the question has a follow up: "If yes, give details of the time the child spend away from Canada"

So, I answered the first part yes, as my child was with my wife and myself whenever we travel so more than 6 months in total.
But, do I have to list all the details and dates when he was away since he became a PR in 2005 or only last 5 years? Also, do I include information when he left for 6 months or longer or EVERY signle day he was out? I do not remember all days he left since 2005 :-( But I can manage to get information for last 5-7 years maybe.

Dear Fellows,

Apology if this has already been discussed. When I print the filled in application form, the information entered in tables especially in question 11 is not printed completely. The call width amd height are fixed and a small plus sign is also printed rather tham full text in some cells. Is it normal or there is a work around?

I have the same thing, not sure how would immigration officers see the information! I am interested to know the answer as well.

Question is clear, you have to provide details becoming PR so from 2005. Question also asks for total of 6 months or more. Your child clearly left for more than 6 month so you have to mention all trips even few days, or weeks or less than 6 month because overall period is already more than 6 months.

You need to screen your child's passport to find out the entry and exit dates to build the history. You can also attach an explanation letter stating that you may have missed one or more travels as you don't have the complete record unfortunately.

Hope this helps.
