Hi Folks,
CIC has come back with a request letter for me asking me to obtain a copy of Own conviction history from Ministry of Justice New Zealand. I am really baffled because their website clearly states that any person living in NZ and not a citizen of NZ has to sign a consent form for CIC authorities to do the Police check. And that we cannot approach local police or ministry of justice to obtain such requests as it is not acceptable. I was thinking that I did the right thing and now they come back with this request. I am confused. Did anyone ever face this issue? I have requested for one immediately but these guys need to update their website info as its misleading.

I guess you had to give that concent when you used to submit a written application for PR. I guess this has changed with EE application. I too was in NZ for a couple of years and I submitted a criminal records check report as mailed to me by criminalrecord@justice.co.nz ( after applying online) and that was enough for CIC. I have already got my PR so I can say this is valid. No need to be confused. Message me if you need more information. All the best.

I read the instruction on CIC website earlier this month and the website says that we have to submit the conviction history (I'm in NZ too). I think they have changed the requirement.

As it didn't come after 20 days I sent them a reminder on 21st day and they mailed me within an hour after that. Normally should come in 20 days. (count working days)

Hi,

I applied for MOJ criminal check on 26 Oct 2017 and got it as at 6 Nov 2017. That was quick. All it says is no criminal conviction as on date with my DOB and name and thats it i guess. I hooe thats the one you had. Cheers!!!

The MOJ has an option to email the record to you in addition to mailing you the physical copy. I called the MOJ and they said that the digital version is identical to the physical copy. Can anyone confirm if the digital version is accepted by CIC? I'm thinking it should be okay, since we have to scan it and upload it anyway.

Hi,

Yes well I was told that the physical copy is absolutely same as digital scanned copy. Ao should be fine. I have uploaded the digital one emailed out to me. I spoke to the person myself yesterday who did my MOJ check and thats what he said. Hence no difference.

Hi, my I am applying for dependent visa for my husband who is in NZ.and they had requested NZ criminal record. He applied on Nov 10th and we are still waiting the last date given by CIC is Dec9th. Is there any possible way to receive it early? or do we need to wait for 20 Working days?

We mailed the request form to "criminalrecord@justice.govt.nz" as given in their website.

Hello i would like to know if the NZ criminal record needs to be authenticated by them as displayed in their website when you put Canada in the list of countries that need authentication.

This is a category A authentication country.

Your documents will be authenticated by the Department of Internal Affairs Authentication Unit, and then sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) for verification.

I believe nobody mentioned it not even in the CIC website, when you check the documents required for the PR.

anybody of you knows or did it?

Please reply ASAP

Thanks

uh uh. Don't bother really about this, not a link you should be concerned about. Just follow the link on the Canada Ca website, that's it.
