Hello,
So we landed Sep 14 in Toronto, and recently booked a trip to NYC on 17 Nov for 10 days.
We booked the flights initially thinking we're good on time; officers told us to expect PR card within 6-8 weeks when we'd landed, and even with the current posted processing time of 61 days we should be Ok.
However, reading the "Track your PR card timeline and processing times here" thread, the majority of people seem to be getting requests for new photos, delaying the PR card by another 2 months. Since there's no reason to believe this won't happen to us too, I'm trying to look at our options.
- Is it really possible to re-enter Canada via land border with only COPR and while using public transport (bus/train/etc, we don't have a driver's license)? Will probably travel via Niagara Falls or Buffalo.
- Has anyone had to go down the PRTD route? I looked at it and it seems can only apply when you're outside Canada, and I read that the processing time is a month so it isn't really a great option while we plan to stay in NYC for only 10 days. Anyone got more info on this?
Canceling flights is unfortunately not an option
Many thanks
