I can understand your situation about waiting, it's is long and frustrated. Because I am facing the same situation like you. I believe most of the people who write in this page are facing the same problem.I applied for SOWP on May 26 - 2017 and still now no update.

Hi Everyone,

I am an Indian national, currently in Toronto on a 3 year Post Graduate Work Permit, issued to me in May this year.

I am getting married in India on December 14/2017 and wish to bring my Mrs along on Dec 22/2017.

She already has a visitor visa for Canada( issued 2015) and intend to apply for an Open Work Permit(OWP) soon after she arrives here.

Will there be any concerns at Immigration if we are travelling together?

We will carry a marriage certificate to prove our relationship status, her recently issued Police Clearance Certificate and a return ticket for her(as per her visitor entry visa requirements).I will also have proof of employment/income for the immigration officer's perusal.

Are there any by any additional documents that we may have to carry?/ minimum funds we need to maintain?or any other requirements?

I have had several unsuccessful attempts(dropped calls) in trying to connect with an agent on the CIC toll free #"

My goal is to ensure that she has a comfortable and hassle free move into Canada.

Hope you all can kindly help me with some expert guidance.

guys! while filling the form for open work permit they ask me about my current employment in Canada. but I am not in Canada. I plan to move there by January. So technically I don't have a job there yet. So what should I write? Should I leave it blank?

Leave it Blank. Only select "OPEN WORK PERMIT".

Confirmation Letter on Aug 24
Now still waiting for Open Work Permit for common law.
Anyone submitted an application on August here who got status update?

Hi,
I applied for paper application in Newdelhi embassy for SOWP. on 10th -October. Till date I am unable to link my paper application online. How many days it took for others to link it. Please suggest. I am following the right steps to link the application.

I was able to link it in my 8th week. Dont worry if yu are nt able to link now. Its only 3 weeks fr yu

Hi,

Once get passport request . where we can submit ? is it ok to submit in bangalore VAC or anyother for online applications?
Pls advice
