Hello to All,
I applied for Citizenship with my daughter, her application was not complete as it was stated I filled only one section in question number 8. My daughter is a minor 14 years of age.

8. Details of Child's parents.

I filled only one section with my information , because we are legally divorced and I am the sole custodian of the girl. I immigrated here only with my daughter.

Well on her birth certificate, she has the fathers names and on passport.

Please I really need help here.
Should I go ahead and fill in the names of the father in the space or what should I do?

Can someone have a look at the question 8 and give me a helping hand.

Thanks in advance.

Luckywoman.

Yes of course you have to fill in the details of both parents. Nowhere does it say "Only include parents that have custody of the child". The most important rule about filling forms is that you shouldn't make up your own rules :)

You must list both parents. Except in the very rare circumstance where the identity of one parent actually is not known.

I haven't applied for a Child but I read the Form and the Instruction Guide and you should fill the information of the Father even if you are divorced.

I'm a child from divorced parents and I remember needing to fill information about my Father on my PR even when I haven't heard anything about him since I was 6 yrs old :S

Exactly, and in the rare circumstance where the Father identity is unknown then there should be an explanation letter attached for that section.

Thanks very much you are making me smile. I have been so depressed.

Ok should I print a new form or fill on the same form that has been marked highlighted.

Thanks very much.

I would suggest you to download and print a new form to make sure that you have the latest version.

It will be treated as a new application anyways.

Yes make sure your forms are dated at least 10-2017 if you are applying under C6 rules, post October 11th
The date of the form can usually be found in the bottom left had corner along with the form number.
e.g.
CIT-0002E (10-2017)

You stated you applied with your daughter on 28 September, then maybe you should phone IRCC and ask their advice about which forms to use. I don't know the implications of a family application with applicants using pre and post C6 forms.

Seek advice from IRCC

At least you know you have one document short to complete your application. You are quite sure that the second time will be the good one.
"glad" to see the application are returned fairly fast, which allow us not to waste time.
