Hi all,

This forum and the people who post here helped me in a big way while doing my pr application and that is highly appreciated.

But something came up now:

I just submitted my pr application recently and I'm now in the process of applying for BWOP. While doing so I realized that I forgot to mention in my letter of explanation for the PR that I performed a flag poling in March this year and didn't mention in my travel history (was literally 2 minutes in the United States, was send back straight to the Canadian site by the officer after I explained him the situation).

It could look if I wanted to hide a travel I did into the US but that's not the case (my visitor visa for the US was still valid). I would like to get in contact with my case officer and explain him/her the situation. A bit nervous now, because I read so many reports and threads, where people got rejected for small things without giving the chance to explain certain things.

Best regards

Totally forgot to ask my question ;)

Is there any possibility to get in contact with my case officer and explain the situation before he/she (hopefully) gets in contact with me? Some of my friends got asked to explain certain things but my flat mate got rejected without the chance to explain what went wrong.

I think this is what you are looking for http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp

That's how you can explain anything regarding your application.

I don't think flagpoling in USA matters. You were refused to enter the USA, and therefore technically never entered USA.

Thanks @Anford for the reply. Exactly what I was looking for.

@andyding13: I had a valid visitor visa for the US at this stage, so therefore I could have theoretically entered the United States for a while. Or do I get a stamp in my passport every time I enter the United States? I think it is still better to explain the stamp to prevent any of these thoughts from a officer.

Whether you entered the US does not depend on whether you have a valid US visa.
If you were given "administrative refusal" at the US border, you are not considered as entered the US, even you have a valid US visa. Similarly, people from US visa exempt countries can also receive "administrative refusal" for flagpoling purpose.

To give you a peace of mind, you can go to US CBP website https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/history-search to search your travel history. You need enter your name, passport number, DOB, etc. If this website does not have your travel history on that particular flagpoling day, then it is completely safe to say that you never entered US on that day.

Thanks but It actually shows up in the travel history of the DoHS @andyding13

But I decided to explain it anyway. No harm in providing additional information!
