**June/July 2017 Inland Spousal Sponsorship (+ OWP Process)**

Hello everyone,

Since I am a July 20th applicant, I would like to create this thread and share with you the process of my application so far. Also, I hope to share yours so we can help its other.

First of all, I would like to share with you two spreedsheets for Inland Timelines 2017.

This one is from a WhatsAppGroup :

I am a newbie but I have read and learn lots of things during the whole process of the Spousal Sponsorship.

Here is my timeline (It is also in the spreadsheet) :

Date App Sent: July 20th, 2017
Date App Received: July 21st, 2017
Date AOR Received (PA): Sep 8th, 2017
Date AOR Received (Spon): Sep 9th, 2017
Date Linked to MyCIC: Sept 20th, 2017 (I had a HARD TIME try linking my Application)
Date Schedule A & Police Certificates Request Received: Sep 15th, 2017
Date Schedule A & Police Certificates Sent: Sep 20th, 2017
Date Open Work Permit (OWP) Linked to MyCIC: Sep 28th, 2017 (I had also a HARD TIME linking my OWP.)

That's my timeline so far.

I would like to know if the July Applicants have received an OWP.
Latest news are that July 17th Applicant got an OWP approved

Thanks for sharing. I sent in my application with OWP on July 24, 2017. My OWP application was returned at the end of September because I submitted the wrong payment amount. Resubmitted Oct. 5th.

I haven't tried to link my OWP application to MyCIC yet. Any tips?

Hello DeenieQ,

Sorry to hear that for your application. Based on what I have read, linking your OWP is way for only for checking the process of your application through your MyCIC. Sometimes it is unreliable. For example, some people who linked the application said that they got the OWP at their mail box without an update on their MyCIC. So it could be unreliable. But most of the time it works.

Now to link the OWP I would say is very random way. You have to link OWP by yourself without any requested letter from CIC. I have one question. Did they send you an email before they return your OWP?

Latest update for OWP approvals

Applicant whose application received on July 19th, 2017 approved on October 11th, 2017.

Hello there,
Couple of questions on Inland sponsorship... my apologies if the questions are not relevant in this thread.
1. I will have to submit documents from India (Country Specific documents) and check list says I would need to submit original documents of Birth certificate, school leaving certificate and Voters Id. So, I would like to know if it is really mandatory to submit original documents or just photo copies of those documents would suffice?

2. Check list doesn't say anything about Travel supplementary form as my spouse is living in Canada. But, just wanted to check if it is ok not to submit that form? And what are the implications if I submit the form even though it is not mentioned in check list?

Appreciate quick response, as i am planning to apply over this weekend (28th/29th Oct, 2017).

1. Send the copy unless they need the original such as police certificate
2. Please follow the check list

Hi there, thank you for sharing this information. I just have question regarding OWP. I submitted an OWP application with my sponsorship application in August. I have linked my sponsorship application to my CIC account. I saw on the lists you shared, other applicants have also linked their OWP application to their CIC account. I was wondering if you or anyone could tell me how to link OWP application? Thanks
