Visitor visa for fiance to visit Canada

HI All,

I am a Canadian permanent resident. I am getting married in the month of February 2013. Since the processing time if I apply for her sponsorship from outside Canada is 9 months, I plan to bring my fiance on a visitor visa and then apply for her permanent residency from Canada. She is currently not working.

Question

1. If I indicate that I am engaged on the invitation letter and I am bringing my fiance here to visit me for a while, will that be reason for rejection?

2. I am planning to show the below documents From my end. Will it be sufficient.

• Bank Manager Confirmation Letter (A/C- Details and Outstanding Balance)
• Statement copy
• invitation letter
• Offer letter
• Salary statements from 6 months
• Identity card
• Tax return from last 3 years
• PR card
• G driving license

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Yes - that could certainly be a reason for rejection. They may suspect she has plans to remain longer than the length of her visit.

2. You're focusing on the wrong area. Rather than providing so much information about yourself, SHE should be providing information about herself that shows she has strong ties to her home country and has no plans to remain in Canada long term.

I disagree about OP focusing on the wrong area. You provide your stuff to your fiance and your fiance sent her application with her information and your stuff to the VO.

- We are both providing the required documents from our end. But is it mandatory to provide the property assessment document and bank balance confirmation & statement, from her end if she is not working.

It's not mandatory but VO likes to see if applicant has any assets and money in the bank accounts.

Also what can I mention on my invitation letter ?. Can I say I am inviting my relative. She is actually my distant relative.

Almost 2 years ago, my then fiance applied for a visitor's visa to visit me. I provided the following:
Invitation letter (emailed to my fiance which he printed out and included in his application)
Cover letter for the Immigration Officer saying I can support him while he's here
Photocopy of my bank account, payslips
Photocopy of my rental lease (to prove he has somewhere to stay)

On his side, he provided:
Photocopy of his bank account with sufficent funds, and payslips
Employment certificate
Photocopy of proof of assets (car)

We didn't pretend he was anything else other than my fiance...basically we told them we've been together for 4 years and haven't seen each other for 11 months at that time.

While he was here, we decided to get married after a month. I'm on a work permit so I was able to get him an open work permit. His work permit took 2 months to process, but it's all good since you can stay here for 6 months if you enter as a visitor. He didn't have to leave because by the time his 6 months was up, he already had an open work permit.

I am Eddy, i have a fiancee in Australia, she went there with student visa and has finished her master now and applied for post student visa and she was given 2 year to work and live in Australia. I went there to engaged her couple of month ago this year and we talk more on IMO app i wanted to invite her here to Canada to visit me for 2 weeks because we are getting married soon in Africa. I wanted her to come so we shop together for our upcoming Wedding but i was told i should invite her as friend not fiancee but they would refused her thinking we are getting married here in Canada. I am really confused dont know what to do help me if yu have any knowledge on fiancee visa or applications. I need help on Ideas

MY QUSTIION IS SHOULD I INVITE HER AS FIANCE OR FRIEND THAT I CAN NOT PROOF TO THEM WE ARE CLOSE.

After speaking to one of the consultants in Toronto I was told that I can get here on visit visa and then get married here in Toronto. He asked me to be honest and tell them the truth. What are the chances of my fiancee getting a visa if I tell them the truth. Also, what documents will I need to show. I don't have car yet but I have recently got a permanent job. My salary is not that great but I will be able to take care of her expenses when she comes here.
Also, will it be a good idea to tell them that we have plans of getting married once she is here?
