Hi me and my husband (from Mexico) applied for spousal sponsorship and his work permit and got confirmation in June, then sent in police certificates, etc.. Now, he just received an email saying his ETA along with his work permit was approved, but he’s already in Canada and has a 10 years visitor Visa. Also, where is the work permit? We are confused....
Thanks ahead.

The original workpermit will be mail it to your house or any corresponded address. At least 2-3weeks later. Or if you want to make sure of it, dont hesitate to call CIC
Congratulation..

Thanks so much for your fast response, Nadaa, any thoughts on why they sent him an ETA? I thought that was only to travel to Canada, but he’s already here ahah. Also, strange that the email is about the ETA primarily, the subject is “ETA approval”. But then in the email it says “In accordance with your work permit, you have been approved an ETA...”
So they would have sent him an ETA “to go with” his work permit before even sending him a confirmation of his work permit? Or is that an implicit confirmation? I’m glad to hear that it should arrive by post in a few weeks, but Im still confused as to why the ETA. Also, I tried the 1-888 number for immigration Canada. Not helpful. Cant get through, the machine can’t find the application dosent matter in what way I try (work permit, ETA, permanent residency), in fact, I still was not able to even link the application to his online account despite them telling me to go ahead and do so lol.
