So what’s wrong with it? It’s one of the benefits of having Canadian citizenship, who are you/we to judge which benefit should not be taken? Basically you are in favor of the classification of second class citizen - if you are not native born, it is a crime to live outside Canada after getting citizenship? Do you know how many native born Canadians are working/living overseas right after graduation of university/college? Those people contributed nothing to the system while taking all the benefits of free education and healthcare, along with all kinds of other credits and subsidies when growing up. The people you and Harper government are judging may take the citizenship and leave , but they at least have contributed 5 - 10 years of taxes while making their way through student/worker/PR/citizenship , and they most likely won’t even come back to claim any old age benefit.

Oh yeah, the call centre is a complete crapshoot. I've rarely gotten an answer from them that justified the 30-45 minute wait time.
Something weird, Canada brings skilled workers without creating jobs for them, they start living in Canada jobless and start getting social assistance. there are so many skilled workers working as drivers or low labor jobs, even Canada doesn't get benefits out of their expertise.
Not really weird. Canada is only trying to hide its insecurities like its agricultural economy by one upping the planet and making look people wanna come here than anyplace. NAFTA. This nation sells billions of dollars worth of beef and alike to The United States, while The U.S. process those raw materials and sells it back to canada for 5 times the cost. The trade deficit.
We have oil here in Alberta and I was shocked we have no refineries. You guessed it, we ship em crude South and buy refined fuel back, no wonder gas prices are always high. Even the Arabs where brighter than this.
Politicians are hoping people will fall into places on their own. Hence, no job creation for new comers. This kind of strategic planning is low for any socialist state. No suprise!
I am not sure where you see the 500+ in October. At the moment we are still below 300. It is unreasonable to expect that the rate of application of the first days post 11 October will be maintained constantly, especially because the data is being collected in a forum where realistically people are a lot keener to apply earlier rather than later.Statistically a small sample can be an "indication" of what is happening at a population level. Obviously with all kind of disclaimers...looking at the google tracker sheet on this website, there were around 70-80 people entering their information on google sheet every month.
After Oct 11 alone, the number in last 10 days is 250 and it is only 10 days yet. Volume will go down as month pass as eager applications who were waiting are in already.
Overall, we are looking at pre-C6 70/month VS post-C6 500+ in October alone.....on this website google tracker. Thats a Trumpian yugggeeee 6+ times bump. Obviously IRCC is going be a delay hub for the next year, or even more.

In the last week there have been approximately 50 records added: if we assume that next week will be the same, we will end the month of October with approximately 350 records. And my guess is that November will see something around 200: application numbers will slowly plateau.
There will obviously be an increase in processing times, but I don't think it will be anything as bad as it is portrayed. Especially because the estimates assume that IRCC was working at full capacity before 11 October, and they would have no ability to absorb an increase in applications without a significant impact in processing times, which is unsubstantiated at this time.
Relax, and don't see everything dark all the time!
I agree....around 350 - post 3/5 - for October.
So, basically 5x a typical month on google spreadsheet. Just as a perspective and indication - not seeing dark as not commenting that it will or will not translate into long delays....It is whatever it is.
adding to this, I have a feeling that IRCC has tuned their internal processes to make them lean. The change to the questions in the form (not just related to C6), cutting down on asking for some documents gives me that indication. So all in all, I dont think it will be frustratingly painful. Normal cases should be done within 12 months.
