Dear Seniors,

I will appreciate if someone enlighten me that whether or not a person can travel abroad after submitting the citizenshipapplication? If one can, is there any time limit?

Thanks in advance

There are a lot of threads here on this forum about this topic.
Yes you can go abroad, technically for as long as you like as long as you do not violate your permanent residency requirements.
Make sure you can make it back on time for the test/oath and that you check your eras, email plus have somebody to check your mail.

Personally I went away for two trips, the first one six weeks and the second one three weeks.

I informed them via IRCC webform well in advice of both trips and my test date fell in between the two trips and my oath date exactly one day after my second trip.

So it worked for me.

If he applied last week with the rest of us, he probably won't have to worry about test oath dates for a while ;)

True, but he did not say when and for how long.
It doesn't matter. The removal of intend to reside clause now allow applicants to apply for citizenship on way to airport. There is no time limit on how long the applicant can remain outside Canada. They can live and work outside Canada so long as they return for test and oath.

Thanks for the insights. I also found the information at the official link:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=911&top=5

I have another question about the two pieces of personal identification for CIT (0008).

In Quebec, neither the school record nor the medical health card have the photograph of the children going to school ( primary school). The birth certificates issued from my country of origin also dont contain the photograph of the child. So what two pieces of identification bearing a photograph could be used? CIC have specifically asked for copy of PR card, Passport copies separately on the checklist which are attached already.
