Hello all,
My husband and I have been waiting for his PR for 7 months now and are planning on having him come to Canada on his visitor's visa in three weeks and stay here until he gets his PR. Once he does get his PR, we are planning on landing by crossing the US border (we live 1 hour away).
Is there any way for him to land with a one-way ticket without being turned away at the airport? What would he need to have with him to prove that he is coming to wait for his PR with me, that he will not overstay his 6 months, and that if, for whatever reason, he does not receive his PR, that he will return to his home country?
Thank you in advance for your feedback!

A good way to show he doesn't intend to overstay, is to have a return ticket in hand in case CBSA wants to see it.

If you get a fully refundable ticket for the return, you can just cancel it after he successfully enters Canada as a visitor.

Note that in many cases getting a round trip ticket from the start, is often practically the same cost as a one way.
