That is not enough. See here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/cit/admin/general/translation.asp

That translator, if you want to use his/her translation, must supply an affidavit swearing that the translation is correct to the best of their knowledge. That affidavit must be administered by a notary public or similar official.
Only Canadian registered translators don't need affidavits.

I think it is easier and cheaper if you simply have the document translated by a Canadian translator. Those aren't particularly expensive.
Thanks @spyfy

I was in Pakistan before landing in Nov 2014 so I suppose I need Police Clarence from Pakistan since I was there (as Pakistani Citizen) for more than 183 days.
I got issued Police Clarence from my District Police Officer (SSP) through my brother in Pakistan. Now I'll get this clearance certificate from foreign office, Pakistan
My question is, do I need to get that certificate attested by Pakistan embassy Toronto / notary public or similar official?

I've prepared everything to apply for the citizenship but I need to confirm one thing before submitting my application..

Based on my Physical Presence Calculator , my eligibility period is 2012-10-23 to 2017-10-23

I entered Canada on 2013-09-09

So between 2012-10-23 - 2013-09-09 , I was still in my home country and was traveling a lot:)

- Do I have to list all my travels in the physical presence calculator from my eligibility date?

Thank you in advance.

I have the similar scenario, please let me know if you get the answer. The problem is when you try to enter your absence on physical presence calculator it asks when you leave Canada, in my/our case we did not even step foot in Canada until Sept 2013. Dont know how to answer that

@humsafar

For the time that you were NOT in Canada, you do not have to enter those dates into the calculator. The calculator specifically asks when you left and entered back into Canada. As you mentioned, you were not in Canada before 9th September 2013, so only enter travel dates after 9th September.

My wife has a similar issue and she arrived in Canada in early 2014. Any travel before that is void.

That's the reason the calculator asks when you first entered Canada and on what status.

Best of luck!

:)

can anybody kindly assist me with the below,

I am self employed, I have ticked yes for all the personal taxes that I have filed 2012-2016.

Regarding self employed corporate taxes - the application form does not have an option to mention it, so I have not. But I have sent a explanatory letter explaining my business and also attached my company registration copy.

Should the above be Ok?

I just tried to enter one of my travels in 2012 and the absent days were 0 (ZERO), the calculator doesn’t add days for any travels before the date you enterd Canada.

I don't know what that document is, sorry.
No problem. Thanks anyways.

An employment authorization document or EAD card, known popularly as a "work permit", is a document issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that provides temporary employment authorization to noncitizens in the United States.

Thank you for your answer ☺
Even if I list my travels before 09-Sep-2013 it doesn’t add days to the calculation, which makes sense ☺
But still don’t know if I should mention it and explain that it was before entering Canada or don’t. I will call and ask CIC.☺

As long as you attach the returns for those years and an explanation letter, it should be fine.

You can't add them because of the fact that you have to mention Date you left Canada and Date you returned to Canada. Before 9th September, you were not in Canada. Don't enter those dates but you can mention it in the explanation letter if you want.

The personal taxes and business taxes are filed separately.

I have not attached the business returns for the years - just an explanation letter

But I have ticked yes for tax filings in the application and provided my SIN - they have not asked us to send the filing copies right?

You are right, I will not mention them. It is asking if I left Canada.
Thank you again.

That's right, they have not asked for such documents. Once you click "yes" to authorise them to get the info from CRA

Just the returns, not the actual filings. From what I can understand, you should only provide personal tax returns even if you are self employed.

If you want a safety net, you can provide you business tax returns along with the explanation letter.

This is just my opinion. People who are in a similar situation as you would be able to answer from their personal experience.
