So my husband took his passport to the embassy, watched the video about Canada and walked out with his visa and copr on the morning of the 11th.!!!!! Said he was with about 30 other ppl.
He flew to Canada on the 14th! 4 years and 9 days after we first meet in person. One month short of a 3 yr wait after applying. What should have taken 7 months, took 3 yrs. He landed in Montreal, took about 40 minutes, also had our furbaby in tow! 3 flights later, my family is home
Life is getting sweeter by the second A big thank you to all the ppl on the forum who helped us over the years, I will stay tuned.

So after my decision October 13,I got email today October 18 requesting my original passport. With in 30daysome from now..

I asked if my husband could be present and the appeal division told me it was just me, CBSA and appeal minister? Where did you hear sponsored person will be questioned? And how?

I just spoke to my ERO to confirm that they got all documents that I sent and she said yes they got them. I also asked her a few questions and she waa nice enough to offer me some tips and info.

Heres what she said:
- With the ADR, its only the appellant, ministers counsel and the ERO
- 90 percent of the question will be about what the immigration officer put as the reason for turning you down
- its also very important to remember dates and birthdays especially if children are involved
- no witness is required
- you are to bring all original documents
- also bring your current passport and or expired passports that shows travel to your spouse's country.
- when means specific dates (not last week or last month)
-where means specific address (not in brampton or in Toronto but specific address)
- listen carefully as they will ask the same questions in different ways
- members of the ministers counsel seems and look mean but they have to appear that way to flush the dishonest people
- unable to provide information or saying i dont know does not look good to the ministers counsil
- dont be nervous
- bring your copy of your evidence that you submitted to them.
- show up atleast 20-30 mins early if you have to go in for the interview.


Those are the pointers that she was nice enough to share with me.

Supportive letter from family and friends to prove your marriage is genuine is a definite. Pics, phone bills, social media, if you sent $ are all evidence. Send as much as you can to show them your marriage is real

As proof I sent:
- cover letter addressing all concerns that were listed in our notes
- phone bills
- Skype convo print out
- travel itinerary and passport print out from like 2011
- Digicel top ups (minutes, so we could talk on the phone)
- Facebook posts
- western union reciepts
- post cards
- supporting letters from friends and family (stating that they know about our age difference)
- about 90 photos

I sent them in a binder, divided into sections and numbered so its easier for them to reference. I also sent them a index at the front of the binder.

I called the IAD for a question and the lady was nice enough to tell me how to do the binder. She said to do it just as your blue book is sent. With a title page, index and do not two side print your evidence. Make sure everything is single paged.

of my husband they asked much less questions
but it does not mean they always do so be prepared to answer all the same questions mainly
know all her family members

what are their names
where does she live where do her parents live
why you coming to canada?
what will you do in canada
do you think you can overcome cultural differences
what kind of contact you have and how much you talk and how you communicate
what do you talk about
we had an interpreter but they also asked my husband in english to make sure he understands
what is his religion and what is my
if he is very religious
main things to remember
both of you have to have the same answer when it comes to the dates
how did relationship progressed what happend and when
both of you have to know about each other families
and most important why coming to canada what is the plan...for your wife to be with your wife to live like a married couple..your plans only to be with your wife and do things wiht her and live with her.
why did you marry...for us was love ..we are of different cultures
what will you do here if you plan to work..that is tricky but my husband said he will be with me live with me and do the things we enjoy (name a few) and because i work 2 jobs he has to find work so i dont have to work so much. if he has a job and what does he do. what will he do here.
how i know he loves me. she should tell them some examples of how and tell them some examples of your good character.
describe what you have in common.things you like to do together.
ah i think thats pretty much it. oh if you are from different cultures make sure your wife knows much about your culture and your country ways.

-Can you talk about your daughter and her mother?
-How and when you and your wife met? How it developed to romantic and to marriage? (details) When did you start living together?
-When and where did your proposal take place? Was there any witness? What did you do after proposal?
-Talk about your wedding. When and where? who attended your wedding? Was there a reception?
-What did you do after you got married? (my husband talked about our wedding night in a very nice hotel and our honey moon a few months later.)
-When you and your wife discussed about spouse sponsorship? Before of after
