Hi, I was just wondering if it becomes too difficult to meet the PCC background check deadline.
Will they extend the time?

Thanks

Maybe they will. However, like I already said, getting it through the consulate/embassy wouldn't be that hard. It is a fairly easy thing to do, and it doesn't take much time.

There is a Colombian consulate in Toronto, why don't you just go there to get the police certificate? You don't even have to get out of your city.

are you sure that this can be done there? have you heard of other people doing this at the consulate in Toronto?

I am in the same boat. I am worried that I will not receive my FBI Record and be able to send it to CIC before the deadline. Would calling CIC explaining my concern and requesting for an extension be the best approach? Or would writing a letter to CIC with documents of proof of my request to the FBI and asking for an extension. I am just concern that I will not be able to provide the documents they want. Thanks in advance for the help.

thanks for your post

I am sure of this because the consulates can issue the police certificate, the consulate in Vancouver does them, and it's the same for any other consulate. I am 100% sure it can be done, as other people have done it.

You don't have to get your police certificate through the FBI. There are other companies that are qualified and certified to issue the police certificate in the United States, and they are still accepted by CIC. You just have to figure out which companies they are, it would be just a matter of days.

All they would need is the PA's cedula, maybe the passport too. Make sure you bring those to the consulate.
