Hi,

I am wondering how this works. I know this means they ask a contact person in my work/education history.
But, I have a question. What happens if my previous employer is not in good terms with me? In that case, what should I fill out here? How does this go? I would appreciate if anybody can explains to me.

Doesn't matter if they are on good terms or not, if they lie, they are most probably committing a crime. They don't need to ask about how well you did at the company, just that you were actually there. They can also get that information on your T4.

No one knows it is a new requirement, that changed in the application last month, I applied in July and don't remember anything like that.

But whenever something is asked in such matters (citizenship etc.) it should be taken seriously and answered truthfully. They will have a system to verify that information, either random checks or call if any doubts, who knows.

If they doubt you're telling the truth, probably. Like I said though, it doesn't matter how the relationship ended, if they lie to an officer they could get in trouble. And assuming you filed taxes, that would also indicate you did work there.

If IRCC thinks the applicant has committed any form of "residency fraud" then they'll use the information otherwise, it's very unlikely they will make contact.

I see. But again, I bring a different question. What is the situation like, if the people who are responsible for my work not existing (Deceased or Discontinued their service) anymore, or they are not in the same address any longer?

Hi there, I have a question regarding a contact person for the periods where I was unemployed. Should I just use my ex's info who I was living with at the time? Other than a brief volunteering period, there were months when I wasn't doing anything. Thanks in advance!
