I think this form is required. Document checklist clearly states if only one parent is sponsoring a minor the other non accompanying parent needs to certify through this form. I double checked with IRCC phone helpline also and they advised that this form needs to be sent along.

Ok. I will immediately send this form through web form now. My only problem is that the declaration is from the Non Accompanying parent. Where as I will accompany my daughter to Canada and have filed an explanation letter claiming exemption from filing IMM 5604 - with my signature and an identity document (that again has my signature). But then may be I don’t get along with IRCC’s understanding on this matter.

Its better to send to be on safe side. You plan to travel along in future and there is no way for ircc to verify it. Through this form ircc wants to ensure there is not going to be any hurdle in future for pr children to move whatever the case may be (separated or divorced couples or one of married ones changing his or her mind etc). This is my opinion and whenever in doubt best is to call help desk even if you have to wait for 35 minutes in queue.

Okay. Not sure. Maybe because IMM 5604 doesn’t apply to you because your wife is a PR? IMM 5604 has absurd declarations. Again - that’s a random guess.

That's strange, well they want to reconfirm through NOC. One positive is that somebody has started eye balling your application at NDVO. How did they intimate you: via MyCiC link or any other channel?

Guys, I applied for my kids where parents are PR. I got my application back diue to lack of 5604. I sent them. So, dont put yourself in getting clarification from cic. Just sent this paper with notrisation from advocate and get rid of this paperwork. my kids medical was done on 14 July and till today (i.e. 17 oct 2017) nothing heard from cic (passport request). My kids are on visitor visa in canada.

Well that's not encouraging..does it still say in PA status, we started processing your file on so on so date? Also, what are the pros/cons of TRV as few of the members have applied? How would they get stamping done from NDVO or it can be done here in Canada itself?

Well I didn't sent the IMM 5604, still I got the SA and file was transferred to NDVO.......my wife is a PR too.....this is confusing. I haven't heard from NDVO since my kids app was transferred on 20th June......

For the spousal applications, they are currently processing applications done in March 2017. My guess is child sponsorship application is running parallel to the spouse applications as far as time lines are concerned.

Hello All,

We have already landed(short landing) and I am planning to land permanently late next year.
My baby was born in USA after our landing.
Will I be able to add my child to my application or sponsor her while we are still in USA? (Or will I now only be able to add her after I land in Canada?)
Anyone, in my situation please share your experience/advise
