There has to be a way to get it counted as a second degree, diploma or a certificate .... Please update. will really appreciate your response on this.
Hi Zen,

Sorry about the delayed response.

As of now, there is no way of including the CFA charter / designation in the EE application.

None of the organisations like WES will verify it for you.

I took this up the CFA Institute as well and they also informed me that WES is not agreeing to count the CFA course as an educational qualification. They classify it as a professional credential.

I went ahead and applied as a Bachelors degree holder and included the charter in my e-APR after I received the ITA.

Hope this helps.

Hi hmashru,

Thanks for the reply. really appreciate it.

I was getting to a similar conclusion, I have checked with WES and ICAS as well. I am disappointment though, It's a shame that while 1 year diplomas from sub-par universities from developing countries are accepted and given CRS points, CFA charter is not regarded as a degree or diploma which is a quite structured program and competitive to say the least.

I will probably go your route as well, include it in the e-APR if I get to that.

Thanks again for your help!

I completely relate to how you feel. :(

What is your score looking like? The cut-offs are much lower than last year, you might still get through. That's what happened with me.

Good luck with the app!

Hi,

I am from India and planning to apply for the Canadian PR.

I have done Bachelor of Commerce which will get classified as a Bachelors by WES. I have also earned the CFA charter from the CFA Institute, USA and am allowed to use the designation. As far as I understand, WES does not recognize CFA.

How do I include the CFA in my application? And does it earn me any extra points in the CRS? The CFA charter can only be achieved after graduation (minimum Bachelors degree) and 4 years of full-time work ex.

In the Express Entry CRS calculator on canadavisa.com if I select "In addition to the certificate selected above, have you completed a 2nd post-secondary diploma/certificate?" as YES along with 3 year Bachelor degree then my score changes from 429 to 462.

This has been creating a lot of confusion for me. I really appreciate any help or clarity on the issue.

Thank you.
But its good to mention in ur personal histroy cz its worthy...
