does anyone understand why there is an option for ‘tax required’?

Isn’t that always required to file whether you are temp worker/student or PR?

If you filed taxes, it doesn't matter if you were required to do so or not. All they care about is that you did it.

I understand that too, that’s why I found this part really confusing and unnecessary ...

It's just CIC being silly. They should have it such that the first box is "Filed Yes/No", and if you pick Yes, the box for "Required to File Yes/No" would disappear. They CAN do that but they don't...because why make things straightforward lol

I put yes/yes and got AOR

If you filed taxes, just check 'yes' to required to file.

What is the assessment date on the tax return? I remember filing every year before time but the assesment date is after April 30th.
