How can you say the answer is "NO", it depends on each individual situation if someone has not lived outside Canada then its "NO" and if someone has lived outside Canada in the eligibility period then its "YES".I am not sure why we are all confused about this question. The answer is clearly "NO"...Am i missing something.. The instruction guide clearly states that
There are very rare circumstances that will let you count time outside of Canada towards your physical presence calculation. If you resided outside of Canada because either:
was employed outside Canada (not as a locally engaged person) in or with:
- you
- your Canadian citizen or permanent resident spouse or common law partner
- permanent resident parent
Complete the Residence Outside of Canada form (CIT 0177) and submit any supporting documents requested in that form with your application.
- the Canadian Armed Forces
- the federal public administration
- the public service of a province or territory
The eligibility period
- Calculate how long you’ve been in Canada
The eligibility period is five (5) years before the date of your application.
Please lets not misguide.
