I have a question, for the temporary resident period, in the calculation page they ask you to enter every period along with your status, so let's say I was a student from 10-2012 to 12-2013, but I travelled outside Canada, should I create one single status as a student from 10-2012 to 12-2013 or should I create one for each time I was in Canada like 01-10-2012 to 03-01-2013 and then 15-01-2013 to 31-12-2013 ?

hey @jsm0085, in qs 11, do you know which address to list for "Where were you physically located" and whose contact to provide ? I'm guessing work place given I was working during the eligibility period.

I have a question on the form:

Section: Assessing your eligibility:
9) c) During your eligibility period did you you live outside Canada? Yes/No

Is it correct to assume is the answer Yes here applies only if you are considering to count days from this period that you lived outside Canada?

Let's say your eligibility period starts from October 2012, but, you first came to Canada in January 2013. (as a temporary resident) Does the period from October 2012 to January 2013 makes this question answered as "Yes" ?

I think it will be helpful to give more light on this point.

Just FYI - We are all agreeing that 10) a) , where you list all your addresses requires you to specify all the address that you've been since October 2012. (which includes the period that I was talking about October 2012 - January 2013)

While its a good idea to fill out the forms and see what information you will need.

I think its not a good idea to rush to submit the application today. Why?

  • There are some errors in the form like its not printing for majority.
  • The document check list is still the older version (i.e. C-24 based)
  • Guide is not clear, for example it reads photocopy of all passports, does not specify biographical pages only or whole.
Hopefully these things will be more clear in the coming days... Take it easy and make sure you do not rush and miss any thing. :)

Check list is updated. Clear cache or use a different browser, download to PC. Date on checklist is 2017/10

I'm on the same boat, In 9) if you answer "YES" then you must complete CIT 0177 which is for Crown Servants only! then what do you do? do you still complete this form even though you've never worked as crown servant? please any insides!!

If you're NOT claiming any time out of Canada towards satisfying 3/5 requirement, then I believe answer to the question should be NO. IRCC really messed it up with their ambiguous wording.

I am still unclear on :
Question 11: name of contact?
Should we put in a specific person??
Which means we will have to call our old employer or educational institute and put in a persons info???

Question 10: should we include visits we made to home (~25 days) ?
